To Create a Lead Capture Page that is eye catching and effective is the goal of every person or business with a product or service to sell online. Often referred to as ‘Squeeze Pages’, Lead Capture Pages do just what they say; they capture pertinent information from the viewer that then becomes a lead for future marketing.

Whether you hire professionals or do it yourself, there are some things you need to be sure to include. One thing you definitely need is a great headline. A headline that captures the viewer’s attention and entices them to continue reading is your goal. Look at these; Make a Million Dollars While You Sleep. Or, Lose Weight While You Sleep. These headlines would at least make me pause long enough to see what else there was on the page.

Follow your great headline with a bit about you and who you are. What you are trying to do here is show them you are an authority in your field and tell them why they should listen to you. A great way to get your point across and get face to face with people is with a direct video. This is by far the best way to communicate to your audience. It shows your sincerity and gives them an opportunity to make a much more informed decision.

Then you need to offer them a “quick glimpse” into what they can expect if they add their details to your page. Just show them enough to say “I have the answers” but be careful not to offer too much. For example, “what are the secrets that rich people don’t want you to know?” Or, “What is the one food that will get rid of fat quickly?” Questions like this will give the reader information without giving them the answer.

The most important item of the lead capture page is to include is the call to action. This is when you actually get the viewer’s contact information. I’ll give you one piece of advice. Don’t ask for too much information. In this day and age of identity theft and Internet fraud, very few people are going to be willing to give a total stranger full contact information. So, don’t ask for full name, address, email and phone number.

The minimum you will need is email address and first name of the contact. I would also recommend an “anti-spam” logo and privacy policy on the page to improve your credibility and trust.

If you are unfamiliar with creating this type of page I would highly recommend getting a professional to help create it for you until you have more experience. At the very least have a look around at some very good selling pages and try to understand the different parts of the page.
